The Minnesota Twins were absolutely pounded on Thursday night as they lost to the Cleveland Indians by the score of 12-2. That is an old fashioned butt kicking and not the way the Twins wanted to finish up the three game series with the Indians.

Livan Hernandez only pitched three inning because he gave up 12 hits and seven runs! Hernandez gave up two home runs as record dropped to 6-4 in the season. The Twins bullpen also sucked as Brian Bass gave up three runs and Boof Bonser gave up two runs. All around it was just a bad outing for the Twins pitchers.

Matt Macri hit his first home run of the season in the fifth inning to score the Twins first run. In the eighth inning, Mike Lamb hit a sacrafice fly that scored Alexi Casilla for the second and last run for the Twins.

Hopefully the Twins can play better against the Milwaukee Brewers this weekend. The Brewers have been playing some pretty good baseball lately, so the Twins are going to have to play great baseball to get some victories.

The Minnesota Twins were able to tie up the three game series with the Cleveland Indians on Wednesday night with a 8-5 victory. It was a one run game heading in to the ninth inning but the Twins were able to score two insurance runs in the ninth and win the game 8-5.

Justin Morneau led the Twins with two doubles and three rbi in the game. Jason Kubel hit his eighth home run of the season in the game as well as he went deep for a two run homer in the third inning. Alexi Casilla, Michael Cuddyer, and Mike Lamb all finished the game with one rbi as well.

Nick Blackburn earned the win for the Twins and is now 5-4 on the season. Blackburn pitched six innings and allowed seven hits and two runs. Boof Bonser gave up two runs and Dennys Reyes gave up a run in the seventh inning but after that the Twins bullpen settled down and didn’t allow a run the rest of the game. Jesse Crain got the last out in the seventh inning and then pitched a scoreless eighth inning before turning things over to Joe Nathan who recorded his 17th save of the season in the ninth inning.

Wow what an exciting game if you are a Minnesota Twins fan! The Twins came back to score five runs in the top of the ninth inning to tie the game, and then scored another run in the top of the tenth inning as they went onto beat the Kansas City Royals 9-8.

Craig Monroe delivered the big three run home run with two outs in the ninth inning that tied the game. It was awesome to see Monroe come in off the bench and deliver the huge pitch hit home run. Justin Morneau then delivered a solo home run in the tenth inning to give the Twins the one run lead.

Monroe led the Twins with three rbi in the game. Mike Lamb and Carlos Gomez both had two rbi while Alexi Casilla and Morneau both had one rbi. Nice balanced scoring attack that the Twins had on the night.

Twins starting pitcher Livan Hernandez was hit all night long as he gave up 13 hits and eight runs in six innings of action. Luckily for the Twins, their bullpen did not allow a run to score in five innings of action.

Juan Rincon, Bobby Korecky, Dennys Reyes, Jesse Crain, and Joe Nathan all pitched in relief.

The Minnesot Twins pounded on the Texas Rangers Tuesday night as the Twins beat the Rangers 11-4. The Twins had 13 hits but they scored 11 runs with great production up and down the lineup. Eleven runs were scored and not one of them came via the home run which is even more impressive.

Alexi Casilla, Delmon Young, and Mike Lamb all had two rbi each in the game to lead the way for the Twins. Joe Mauer, Justin Morneau, Michael Cuddyer, and Adam Everett all had one rbi in the game. Now that is what I call production up and down the lineup!

Glen Perkins improved his record to 1-1 on the season as he pitched 6 1/3 innings to pick up the win. Perkins allowed six hits and three runs (two were earned) in his six plus innings of action. Brian Bass then came in and tossed 2 2/3 innings while giving up one run.

The Twins are in second place of the Central Division as they are 1.5 games behind the Chicago White Sox. Let’s see if the Twins can make a nice run at the top position during the rest of the week. Twins Blog

The Minnesota Twins tied the game in the ninth inning with a rbi single and then eventually beat the Texas Rangers 7-6 with a rbi single in the 12th inning. Great come from behind win for the Twins that will hopefully spark them up a little bit so they can go on a nice winning streak.

Joe Mauer had the rbi single in the bottom of the ninth inning that sent the game into extra inning. In the 12th inning it was Howie Clark who delivered the game winning hit. Alexi Casilla led the Twins with three rbi in the game as he had a three run home run in the fourth inning. Mauer finished the game with two rbi while Mike Lamb and Clark both had one rbi.

Bobby Korecky got the Twins out of a bases loaded jam in the 11th inning and then pitched the 12th inning as he recorded his first win of the season. Korecky also got a hit in the game as well. Korecky became the first Twins pitcher to get a hit in an American League game since the designated hitter rule was enacted in 1973.

Starting pitcher Boof Bonser gave up six hits and four runs in 6 1/3 innings. Matt Guerrier and Dennys Reyes both gave up one run in relief as well. It was Jesse Crain, Joe Nathan, and Juan Rincon who pitched three scorless innings before Korecky came into the game.

Good win for the Twins and hopefully they can continue to win some ballgames. Twins Blog

Jason Kubel hit a two run home run and Mike Lamb had a sacrafice fly to provide the three runs for the Twins. It would have been nice to see some more offense but I’m still glad that those three runs were enough for the Twins to win.

Boof Bonsor started the game and pitched seven innings. Bonsor gave up six hits and one run as he picked up his second win of the season. Joe Nathan was able to secure his eighth save of the season as he shut the door on the White Sox in the ninth inning.

Pat Neshek took the loss for the Twins as he allowed two earned runs in his one inning of action. Matt Guerrier who was pitching in relief of starting pitcher Nick Blackburn allowed four earned runs in 1.1 innings of action. Blackburn pitched 5.2 innings to start the game and also allowed four earned runs. Overall, the Twins pitching stuff sucked it up all night long. There is no reason that the Twins shouldn’t have won after scoring nine runs themselves.

The middle of the order did all the damage for the Twins. Justin Morneau, Delmon Young, Jason Kubel, and Brendan Harris all contributed with two RBI each. Mike Lamb contributed with one RBI.
