The Minnesot Twins pounded on the Texas Rangers Tuesday night as the Twins beat the Rangers 11-4.  The Twins had 13 hits but they scored 11 runs with great production up and down the lineup.  Eleven runs were scored and not one of them came via the home run which is even more impressive.

Alexi Casilla, Delmon Young, and Mike Lamb all had two rbi each in the game to lead the way for the Twins.  Joe Mauer, Justin Morneau, Michael Cuddyer, and Adam Everett all had one rbi in the game.  Now that is what I call production up and down the lineup!

Glen Perkins improved his record to 1-1 on the season as he pitched 6 1/3 innings to pick up the win.  Perkins allowed six hits and three runs (two were earned) in his six plus innings of action.  Brian Bass then came in and tossed 2 2/3 innings while giving up one run.

The Twins are in second place of the Central Division as they are 1.5 games behind the Chicago White Sox.   Let’s see if the Twins can make a nice run at the top position during the rest of the week.  Twins Blog

The Minnesota Twins beat the Boston Red Sox 7-3 on Monday night to beat the Red Sox 3-1 in their four game series.  The Twins kept pressure on Red Sox starting pitcher Clay Buchholz in the game as they rocked him for seven runs in only 4 1/3 innings.

The Minnesota Twins clobbered the Chicago White Sox 12-1 byehind Carlos Gomez who hit for the cycle.  Gomez was the first Twins player to hit for the cycle since Kirby Puckett did it 22 years ago.

Gomez wasn’t the only Twins player to put up good numbers however as Nick Punto had five rbi in the game to lead the Twins.  Have Punto’s five rbi, Gomez’s three rbi, Michael Cuddyer, Delmon Young, and Matt Tolbert all had one rbi.

Livan Hernandez was great on the mound as he improved to 5-1 on the season after tossing a complete game.  Hernandez gave up nine hits in the nine innings and only allowed one run which came in the ninth inning when Jermaine Dye hit a solo home run.

The Twins are now 17-15 on the season after the butt kicking off the White Sox.  Twins Blog

The Minnesota Twins lost to the Tampa Bay Rays by the score of 7-3 on Thursday night.  Boof Bonser pitched four innings to take the loss for the twins.  Bonser just didn’t have his good stuff tonight and he put the Twins in a big hole early in the game.

Matt Tolbert, Joe Mauer, and Delmon Young all had one RBI each for the Twins.

It sucks to see the Twins lose to the Rays, but you have to have good starting pitching and more productivity out of your hitters if you want to win on a consistent basis no matter what team you play.

With the loss the Twins record drops to 7-9 on the season.

Juan Rincon picked up the win and Joe Nathan got his fifth save of the season.  Livan Hernandez pitched six innings and gave up eight hits and six runs.  Only four of the six runs were earned however.

The Minnesota Tigers had the Detroit Tigers right where they wanted them heading into into the 8th inning.  That was things completely turned around and the Tigers scored six runs in the inning on their way to a 11-9 victory over the Twins.

Pat Neshek took the loss for the Twins as he allowed two earned runs in his one inning of action.  Matt Guerrier who was pitching in relief of starting pitcher Nick Blackburn allowed four earned runs in 1.1 innings of action.  Blackburn pitched 5.2 innings to start the game and also allowed four earned runs.  Overall, the Twins pitching stuff sucked it up all night long.  There is no reason that the Twins shouldn’t have won after scoring nine runs themselves.

The middle of the order did all the damage for the Twins.  Justin Morneau, Delmon Young, Jason Kubel, and Brendan Harris all contributed with two RBI each.  Mike Lamb contributed with one RBI.

Jason Kubel went 2-4 with six RBI on Wednesday night to lift the Minnesota Twins over the Chicago White sox by the score of 12-5.  Kubel hit a grand slam, a RBI single, and a sac fly to account for his six RBI’s.  What night for Kublel who says Chicago is his favorite place to hit the ball.

Carlos Gomez and Mike Lamb chipped in with two RBI while Delmon Young and Craig Monroe also had one RBI for the Twins.

Scott Baker picked up his second win of the season in the game as he tossed five innings of five hit ball as he allowed three earned runs while striking out seven.  Brian Bass picked up the save as he pitched the final four innings of the game.  Bass did allow one earned runs in his four innings.

The Minnesota Twins controlled the game against the Chicago White Sox for most of the day, all except for the 7th inning when the White Sox put up five runs and took the lead for good giving the Twins there fifth lose of the season.

Mike Lamb had two RBI, while Joe Mauer and Delmon Young each had one RBI.

Nick Blackburn started the game for the Twins but only lasted five innings as he gave up seven hits and two earned runs.  Matt Guerrier took the loss as he allowed two earned runs, and Pat Neshek allowed three earned runs.  You have to have better performances out of the bullpen if you want to compete, the Twins will have to work on that.
