Twins outfielder Delmon Young has a bone bruise in his right ankle. Young underwent an MRI on Monday to determine the extent of his ankle injury after he collided with the left-field wall in Milwaukee on Saturday and had to be carted off the field. He was placed on the 15-day disabled list Sunday with what was classified as an ankle sprain.

Joe Mauer is still catching for the Minnesota Twins. But the 2009 American League Most Valuable Player has, at least, begun to take groundballs at first base. Mauer got some work in at that position before Monday's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers while manager Ron Gardenhire stood next to him and offered the advice of an ex-infielder.
